Vidya Fest 2024: A Kaleidoscope of Young Talent in Tripura
Khowai, Tripura: In a vibrant celebration of youth and culture, Khowai district recently hosted the inaugural ‘Vidya Fest 2024’. This four-day extravaganza, held from November 29 to December 2, showcased the immense talent of students from Vidyajyoti schools across the district.
Nearly 2,000 young minds from 12 Vidyajyoti schools participated in a diverse range of 29 events, spanning performing arts, literary arts, and visual arts. The festival, held in Khowai, Kalyanpur, and Teliamura, was a testament to the transformative power of education and the importance of co-curricular activities.
Governor Indra Sena Reddy graced the occasion as the chief guest, emphasizing the crucial role of co-curricular activities in shaping well-rounded individuals. He urged students to actively engage in such activities to foster creativity and develop essential life skills.
Kalyani Saha Roy, Chief Whip, echoed the sentiments, highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a strong education system and the state government’s dedication to enhancing educational opportunities through initiatives like the Vidyajyoti scheme.
Chandni Chandran, DM and Collector of Khowai District, shed light on the objectives of Vidya Fest, stating, “The festival aimed to provide a platform for students to express themselves, build confidence, and celebrate their cultural heritage. It also serves as a valuable tool to assess the impact of cultural instructors in Vidyajyoti schools.”
