Violent Clash at India-Bangladesh Border Leaves Two Injured in Tripura
Agartala: A violent altercation erupted on Sunday, January 26, along the India-Bangladesh border near Heerachhara in the Kailashahar Sub-division of Tripura’s Unakoti district.
The incident left two Indian nationals, Karim Ali and Zamir Ali, critically injured after an alleged attack by Bangladeshi nationals.
The clash reportedly occurred near Gate No. 44 of Border Pillar No. 1843 when Karim Ali and Zamir Ali, residents of the Heerachhara area, visited their land located within Indian territory.
Upon reaching the site, the duo discovered a group of individuals from Dasteki village in Bangladesh harvesting crops on their land.
Sources revealed that when the Indian nationals protested, tensions escalated, and a group led by Bangladeshi resident Ahaad Ali allegedly attacked them with sharp weapons.
Karim Ali sustained severe injuries, including the amputation of a finger, while Zamir Ali was also gravely wounded.
Border Security Force (BSF) personnel stationed nearby promptly intervened and rescued the injured Indian nationals. The duo was rushed to Unakoti District Hospital for medical treatment.
The incident has heightened tensions along the Heerachhara border, raising security concerns for Indian citizens residing in border areas.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and further measures are being taken to ensure peace and safety in the region.
