Violent Clash Erupts at Assam Congress Headquarters During NSUI Elections

Guwahati: A violent altercation erupted at Rajiv Bhawan, the headquarters of the Assam Congress, on the final day for submitting membership lists for the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) state presidential election.

The incident escalated into a brutal assault, leaving one candidate severely injured and prompting police intervention.

Jinsh Bora, a presidential candidate, was allegedly attacked by two fellow NSUI members, Mithu Ahmed and Prince.

Reports indicate that Bora sustained head injuries and was immediately transported to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment.

Eyewitnesses claim the assault stemmed from Bora’s attempts to garner support from another candidate. Approximately 50-60 individuals, including NSUI and Youth Congress members, were present during the incident.

The Bhangagarh Police have detained the accused, and investigations are underway. However, concerns are mounting that the NSUI may be attempting to suppress details of the incident.
