Vir Das Secures Emmy Award for Best Comedy in Recognition of Netflix Special
Entertainment Desk, 21st November: Following his triumph at the Emmy Awards for his comedy show ‘Vir Das: Landing,’ comedian Vir Das expressed his elation and gratitude. Sharing a photo of himself clutching the award alongside Akash Sharma and Reg Tigerman, Vir received an outpouring of congratulatory messages from his fans.
On Instagram, Vir delightedly posted a series of pictures, captioning them with, “For India. For Indian comedy. Every breath, every word. Thank you to the @iemmys for this incredible honour.”
Reflecting on his victory at the International Emmy Awards, Vir conveyed his excitement, stating, “I have immense gratitude, holding the International Emmy for Best Comedy for ‘Vir Das: Landing.’ This one is for my team and for Netflix without whom this wouldn’t have been possible.” He emphasized the extraordinary journey, considering this accolade for his fifth special with Netflix as a culmination of passion, perseverance, and the unwavering support from people globally who have embraced “Vir Das: Landing.”

In the Comedy Category, the award was shared, with ‘Derry Girls Season 3’ also receiving recognition.
