
Vote Counting Underway for Assam’s Sidli ST Assembly Constituency
Dhubri: Counting of votes for the crucial 31 Sidli (ST) Assembly Constituency in Assam began this morning at 8 AM under tight security arrangements.
The counting process, spread across 14 tables and 20 rounds, is being closely monitored by election officials to ensure transparency and fairness.
The contest in Sidli features three prominent candidates: Nirmal Kumar Brahma of the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), Sanjib Wary from the Indian National Congress (INC), and Suddha Kumar Basumatary of the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF). Each candidate has expressed optimism about their chances, reflecting confidence in their campaigns.
Sidli’s electorate, totaling 2,17,183 voters, includes 1,07,894 male voters, 1,09,283 female voters, and four third-gender voters, showcasing the constituency’s diverse and inclusive democratic framework.
Congress candidate Sanjib Wary emphasized his faith in the voters’ judgment, citing widespread support during his campaign. He expressed optimism about securing a win, attributing it to the trust placed in him by the people and the focus on local issues throughout his campaign.
