Guwahati: One suspected drug peddler has been arrested and seized a huge consignment of drugs in Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Thursday.
The arrestee has been identified as Sofikul Islam who is a resident of Nagaon district.
According to reports, a bus bearing registration no AS-01-NC-1849 was intercepted by the on-going police personnel. On checking the vehicle, 12.02 grams of suspected heroine has been recovered.
Moreover, the police officials seized while it was being carried from Dimapur to Bokajan.
It may be mentioned that he is currently being interrogated by the police officials and further investigation into the matter is underway.
