Warlike Stores Recovered in Siaha, 4 Arrested

Guwahati: At least four people have been apprehended in connection with a large cache of warlike supplies and tactical that were found in Siaha district as a result of a joint operation between the Mizoram Police and Assam Rifles Battalion that was launched at Lunglei.

The recovery was made near the Siaha village of Tuipang.

The group possessed precise knowledge of the transit of tactical and military supplies for militants headquartered in Myanmar.

According to reports, insurgents in the neighbouring country were using the recovered items for anti-national operations against their own people.

The recovered items include a shotgun, 12 gauge 70mm shells, 169 Gelatin sticks, 530 Roll caps, two combat backpacks, three combat dresses, one pouch, a pair of hand gloves, a pair of military shoes, 1500 Cal 4.5mm/0.177 pellets, a Kenbo bike and a Yodha car.

Meanwhile, the Mizoram Siaha police station has received the arrested individuals and seized goods for further investigation.
