Assam: In a shocking incident, Congress MP Rakibul Hussain was attacked by a group of miscreants at Natun Bazar in Rupahihat on Thursday.
The incident occurred while he was on his en route to attend a party workers’ meeting in Gunabari.
Reports indicate that the attackers, whose faces were covered with black cloth, waved black flags at Hussain before launching the assault. The situation escalated further when the assailants also attacked Hussain’s bodyguard.
To ensure the MP’s safety, his security personnel fired warning shots into the air, preventing any major harm to the MP.
The attack has raised tensions in the area, prompting local authorities to closely monitor the situation and take necessary measures to maintain peace.
