WATCH| Assam: Massive Fire in Jorhat Cause Extensive Damage to Warehouse
Guwahati: A devastating fire broke out at the Shyam Enterprise warehouse in Borpool, Jorhat, on February 20, causing substantial damage to a variety of stored goods, including chips and cold drinks.
Multiple fire brigade vehicles were immediately dispatched to the site to battle the blaze. Firefighting operations are ongoing, with authorities working diligently to control the fire and prevent it from spreading further.
At this point, the cause of the fire remains unclear, and local authorities are closely monitoring the situation to determine the origin of the flames.
Earlier, on the night of February 18, another major fire broke out at Krishna Food Product, a soyabean processing factory located in Panikhaiti, on the outskirts of Guwahati.
The fire spread rapidly across the facility, causing significant damage. Upon receiving reports of the incident, two fire tenders were quickly dispatched to the scene.
After hours of intense firefighting efforts, the blaze was eventually brought under control. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit, though further assessments are still in progress.
Authorities are currently evaluating the financial losses from the incident, which are expected to be substantial.
