WATCH| Assam: Severe Storm Causes Widespread Destruction Across Multiple Regions of the State

Guwahati: A severe storm, accompanied by heavy rainfall, swept through several regions of the state late on the night of February 18, causing widespread destruction. The storm hit just after the Meteorological Department issued a weather alert warning of severe conditions, which proved accurate as the storm intensified.

The storm uprooted large trees, blocking roads and disrupting normal life in affected areas. Footage from the scene captured the powerful force of the storm, highlighting the significant damage it caused.

In addition to infrastructure damage, the storm caused extensive power outages, leaving several areas in complete darkness. The Barak Valley was particularly hard-hit, with continuous rainfall and strong winds compounding the difficulties for residents, as they struggled to cope with the aftermath of the storm.
