‘Wearing Masks should be mandatory for Traders’, Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Businessmen and Vendors are mostly infected with  COVID-19 in Guwahati due to the Non-Wearing of Masks. In a Meeting with the Business Association Members, the Minister asked to make sure that all Vendors should wear a mask.

He said that in other States, the Retailers do not give products to the buyers without wearing masks but here in Assam most of the Businessmen are dealing with the customers without a mask for which the cases are increasing. The Minister also reiterated about the Pharmacists for not wearing masks for which the he sought help from the Business Association.

He asked the Association to make sure that all traders should wear mask and if anyone is found that they are selling products without masks, their Establishments should be closed down. Secondly, the Minister asked all the Traders to get the Tests done from August 1 as the Government has set up 100 screening Centers across the City.
