WhatsApp in Changes with Several New Features
Guwahati: A number of new features, such as Communities and Group Discussions, have been added to messaging app WhatsApp.
According to Mashable, the Meta-owned site is introducing a new way to connect with others who have similar interests and has also raised the cap on group chat participants from 100 to 512.
Reportedly, whatsApp is beta-testing, a new feature in response to suggestions that users and administrators want to know who has departed chats in such sizable groups.
Reportedly, it states that group administrators and participants of WhatsApp’s iPhone beta version 22.16.0.75 would be able to view who left the group or was kicked out of it within the last 60 days. According to WABetaInfo, a new option called “See Past Participants” has been introduced under the list of current participants on the “Group Information” page.
Additionally, a separate search box for the list of banned users is present and is typically useful for lengthy talks where people leave and rejoin. Additionally, it can be helpful for small firms who use WhatsApp groups for client or internal communication.
Additionally, the business is rolling back the present feature that alerts all chat participants when someone joins or quits a group. In order to expedite moderation, only the admins will be notified through in-chat of such events.
Moreover, this effectively means that the names of participants who have either departed or been eliminated will be listed under “Past Participants.”
According to Mashable, the software is cross-platform, and it will probably be made available shortly for both desktop and Android users. The capability is already rolling out to iOS users who are WhatsApp TestFlight members.
In the meanwhile, the messaging service is also trialling an Android feature that would let group admins help with content filtering by erasing messages.
