Widespread Fog Disrupts Train Schedules in North India

National Desk, 7th January: Train services in North India are experiencing significant delays due to widespread fog affecting various parts of the region. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that the maximum temperature in Delhi is anticipated to reach 16 degrees Celsius, with a minimum temperature around 8 degrees Celsius.

The dense fog has led to substantial delays, ranging from 4 to 6 hours, for 22 trains in the Delhi area, posing a considerable challenge for commuters. The low visibility caused by the heavy fog has disrupted the regular train schedule, prompting alerts from the IMD, indicating a potential further deterioration in weather conditions. This emphasizes the need for increased awareness and vigilance among commuters regarding evolving fog-related challenges in the region.

On Saturday, Delhi recorded its highest temperature at 15.2 degrees Celsius, four degrees below the seasonal average. The IMD predicts dense to very dense fog conditions in the upcoming days for Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and eastern Rajasthan.

The impact of foggy conditions during winter months on train services is well-known, often causing delays and potential disruptions. Travelers are advised to stay informed about the situation through reliable news sources, official railway websites, or communication with relevant authorities.
