Wild Elephant Causes Havoc in Kusumbil Village Near Assam’s Raimona National Park
Guwahati: An alarming situation has emerged in *Kusumbil village, near *Raimona National Park in Assam’s Gossaigaon sub-division, as a wild elephant has ventured out of the park, causing widespread destruction. The elephant, which roamed out from the Raimona Western Forest Range, has left a trail of chaos, damaging homes, farmlands, and attacking livestock.
Local residents report that the elephant has injured several cows, and one man was attacked, though he miraculously escaped with minor injuries. The elephant’s presence has disrupted daily life in the village, prompting villagers to gather in large numbers to try and drive the animal away. The sheer size of the crowd has complicated efforts to control the situation.
Forest department officials are currently on the scene, working to manage the agitated elephant and bring the situation under control. Their priority is to ensure the safety of the villagers and relocate the elephant back to its habitat.
