Wild Elephant Electrocuted to Death in Assam’s Udalguri

Guwahati, 28th August: A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Assam’s Udalguri on Monday morning as a wild elephant lost its life due to contact with a high-voltage electricity line. The tragic incident occurred near the India-Bhutan border in Hatigarh, highlighting the dangers that wildlife faces due to human infrastructure.

According to sources, the elephants had ventured out of their forest habitat in search of food, only to come into contact with the deadly high-voltage electricity line. The unfortunate encounter led to the elephant’s electrocution, resulting in its untimely death.
