Wild Tusker Kills Two People In Assam’s Sonari
Guwahati: A wild elephant attacked two people who were trampled to death in Assam’s Sonari on Monday.
The wild tusker reportedly emerged from the bush in search of food. Two villagers died as a result of the incident that occurred in the early hours of last night at Sonari in the state’s Charaideo district.
According to the villagers the tusker went on a rampage, stamping two huts to the ground while also trampling two villagers to their death.
Meanwhile, the deceased were identified as Bikash Tanti and Gobind Tanti. It should be mentioned that amid a loss of habitat, the animal-human conflict has increase in Assam which results in loss of lives.
