Wildlife Officials Seize Elephant Tusk in Assam Operation

Guwahati, 18th August: In a significant operation, officials from Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary carried out a raid at Tengatoli in Laharighat, Assam, on Friday. The successful operation led to the confiscation of an elephant’s tusk weighing around 2.5 kg from the residence of Asmat Ali.

Taking prompt action, the forest department apprehended Ali for further investigation. This operation underscores the authorities’ dedication to safeguarding wildlife and curbing the illegal trade in animal parts.

The seizure of the elephant tusk highlights ongoing efforts to combat poaching and trafficking, a crucial step in preserving endangered species and maintaining the ecological equilibrium of the region.
