Wildlife Rescue Team Saves Abandoned Asiatic Bear Cub in Arunachal Pradesh

Northeast Desk, 11th July: In a remarkable rescue operation, a wildlife rescue team has saved a 4-month-old Asiatic bear cub from Kolortang village in Lohit district, Arunachal Pradesh. The cub was found abandoned near the Tezu-Hayuliang road and swiftly transported to the Mini-Zoo-cum-Rescue Centre in Lower Dibang Valley.

At the centre, dedicated caretakers provided immediate care and attention to the young cub, ensuring its well-being.

The cub has now been transferred to the Centre for Bear Rehabilitation and Conservation (CBRC) located in Pakke Tiger Reserve. This specialized facility is equipped with wildlife experts who will continue to provide necessary care.

The ultimate goal is to prepare the bear cub for release back into its natural habitat, ensuring it can thrive independently in the wild. This effort underscores the commitment to wildlife conservation and the rehabilitation of endangered species in the region.
