The tragic incident in question occurred on April 22 in the Baisaran meadow of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, resulting in the deaths of 26 individuals, primarily tourists.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has publicly defended the arrest of AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam, asserting its justification based on the legislator’s alleged pro-Pakistan sentiments.

He affirmed his commitment to continue such actions against those holding similar views.
Earlier, Chief Minister Sarma had shared detailed information about those arrested and reiterated his government’s firm stance against anyone supporting or defending Pakistan in connection with the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
In a post on X, he stated that Assam will not tolerate any individual who directly or indirectly supports or defends Pakistan concerning the heinous attack in Pahalgam. He listed the names of individuals arrested so far by the Assam Police from various districts, including Hailakandi, Silchar, Morigaon, Nagaon, and Sivasagar, for allegedly promoting the cause of Pakistan on social media.
