Guwahati: An app-based bike taxi driver was arrested for allegedly abusing a woman passenger in Guwahati on Monday evening.
According to reports, the victim woman had hired a rapido to travel from Jayanagar to Rehabari.
The driver identified as Dipen Gohain allegedly tried to molest her on the way, prompting her to scream.
Reportedly, the irritated motorist then struck the woman with her helmet, injuring her.
Following the incident, a Dispur police team based on the allegation detained the accused guy from a Guwahati club.
It may be mentioned that he was then taken to the police station for further legal action.
