Guwahati: A woman who allegedly escaped from police custody on July 1 was arrested by Garchuk Police in Guwahati on Tuesday.
The woman identified as Makon Kakati was detained by Dispur police in the city’s Six Mile area on suspicion of violence.
The woman broke free from the Dispur police’s custody as she was being brought for a medical examination.
Meanwhile, Garchuk police handed over custody of the woman to Dispur police last night.
However, the accused Kakati claimed that she left the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where she had been taken for her medical examination, after being given Rs 100 by police officers.
