Guwahati: Sensation prevailed after a body of a middle-aged woman was found from a residence under mysterious circumstances in Nagaon district of Assam on Tuesday morning.
The incident has been reported from RNB road at Haibargaon area of the district.
The deceased has been identified as Ayesha Siddique.
According to reports, her wrists and legs were tied with ropes when her body was recovered.
Meanwhile, police reached the scene and recovered the body for post mortem. The cause of her death is yet to be ascertained.
The residence was found thoroughly looted so on the surface it appears to be a robbery case, police said.
Further investigation is underway.
