Women’s Branch of RSS Supports “Sanskari Babies”
Guwahati: The national organising secretary of Samvardhinee Nyas, an affiliated branch of the Rashtriya Sevika Samiti, Madhuri Marathe, announced on Monday that the organisation has launched a campaign called “Garbha Sanskar” for expectant mothers to teach their unborn children culture and values while they are still inside the mother.
The Gita, the Ramayana, and yoga exercises will be practised during pregnancy in order to “impart cultural values to newborns in the womb,” according to a programme that the Nyas is developing with gynaecologists, ayurvedic physicians, and yoga instructors.
According to Marathe, “a baby in the womb can learn up to 500 words,” and the programme will run from pregnancy through birth and until the child reaches the age of two. It will place a strong emphasis on chanting Gita shlokas and Ramayana chaupais.
Marathe said, “The aim and objective of this campaign is to develop a programme which ensures that the baby can learn sanskar (culture and values) in womb and the process continues till the baby gets two years old.”
It should be noted that Samvardhinee Nyas is a division of the RSS’s women’s branch, Rashtriya Sevika Samiti. According to Marathe, the initiative aims to speak with at least 1,000 women.
A session organised by the Nyas as a part of this campaign was held on Sunday at Jawaharlal Nehru University, and several gynaecologists, including those from AIIMS Delhi, attended.
