Workshop on Preserving Traditional Meitei Housing to be Held in Manipur

Northeast Desk, 29th April: A one-day workshop on “A Scientific and Social Outlook on Yumsharol” is scheduled to take place on May 25, 2024, at Lainingthou Sanamahi Shanglen in Manipur.

Addressing the media during a press conference held at Laniningthou Sanamahi Temple Board (LSTB), its Member Secretary Shivadutta Luwang highlighted the importance of preserving the rich cultural heritage of Manipur, particularly the traditional housing style of the Meitei community, which has been followed for generations.

Luwang emphasized the objective of the workshop, which aims to preserve and promote the age-old norm of housing in Manipur. He encouraged the community to attend the workshop and participate in discussions surrounding this significant aspect of Meitei culture.

The workshop will be organized by LSTB in collaboration with The Institute of Engineers (India) under the aegis of Civil Engineering Division Board (CVDB) IEI.

Interested individuals can obtain registration forms from the premises of LSTB and IEI Imphal Centre to participate in the workshop.

The initiative reflects a concerted effort to safeguard and celebrate the cultural heritage of Manipur, ensuring its preservation for future generations.
