Ye Suspended From Twitter After Swastika Post
Guwahati: Twitter has banned American rapper Ye formerly known as Kanye West for breaking the site’s policies against inciting violence.
The rapper’s Twitter account had an “account suspended” notice posted on it on Friday.
The CEO of Twitter Elon Musk announced on Twitter that the 22-time Grammy Award winner has been kicked off the service.
“I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended.” Musk tweeted in response to a user who asked for Kanye to be “fixed”.
According to the US-based entertainment publication “The Hollywood Reporter,” the “Praise God” rapper used the microblogging platform to post a number of contentious tweets including some texts he exchanged with Musk.
The “Runaway” singer shared an image that appeared to be a Swastika combined with the Star of David in the tweet, which Twitter has since removed.
Elon Musk in his twitter post said: “Just clarifying that his account is being suspended for incitement to violence, not an unflattering pic of me being hosed by Ari. Frankly, I found those pics to be helpful motivation to lose weight!”
The rapper’s Twitter account was already suspended in October because of his anti-Semitic remarks. In response to a tweet he posted on October 8, the rapper, according to Deadline had his Twitter account suspended. The expulsion from Instagram came after a similar warning.
According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, the 45-year-old rapper’s tweets simply fueled the flame he started when he claimed to appreciate Adolf Hitler on Alex Jones’ “Infowars Show.”
The Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee also took issue with the rapper’s remarks as seen by the deletion of a tweet that appeared to defend the rapper in reaction to his anti-semitic remarks, according to the website.
