National Desk, 3rd June: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday celebrated the BJP’s overwhelming victory in the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections, forecasting a similar triumph for his party following the June 4 vote counting.
Adityanath took to the social media platform X, declaring, “With an overwhelming majority in the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly, the resolve of ‘Fir Ek Baar Modi Sarkar’ has been fulfilled. This dawn from the eastern direction will illuminate the country on June 4. The Congress-led I.N.D.I. alliance will certainly face defeat on June 4.”
In the results announced on Sunday, the BJP nearly swept the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly polls, securing 46 out of 60 seats. This victory marks the BJP’s third consecutive term in power in the state.
Polling for 50 of the 60 assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh was conducted on April 19, alongside the Lok Sabha elections. Notably, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had already won 10 seats unopposed.
Election officials reported that the BJP won 36 of the 50 seats where polling was held, with Chief Minister Pema Khandu being one of the 10 candidates who won unopposed. The Congress managed to secure one seat, while independent candidates claimed three seats.
