Young Woman from Sikkim Raped by Two Men in Bihar Guest House
Northeast Desk, 7th June: A horrifying incident unfolded in Kishanganj, Bihar, as a young woman from Sikkim fell victim to a brutal rape by two men at a guest house. The incident occurred on June 6 when the victim, accompanied by a friend, missed their train back to Sikkim and sought accommodation assistance from a local acquaintance.
Reports from the police indicate that the accused individuals, identified as Arhan Akhtar from Bahadurganj and Amjad Hussain from Araria district, forcibly entered the victim’s room while allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Despite the presence of the victim’s male friend, the perpetrators overpowered him and tied him down before subjecting the young woman to sexual assault.
Fortunately, one of the victims managed to escape and promptly alerted the police. Swift action by law enforcement led to the raid of the guest house, where the traumatized victim was rescued, and the two accused were apprehended.
The victim received immediate medical attention at the district hospital, where she is undergoing treatment and receiving necessary support.
In response to the heinous crime, authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation, with a forensic team from Bhagalpur dispatched to the crime scene to collect crucial evidence. Meanwhile, the accused individuals remain in custody, and legal proceedings are underway to ensure justice is served for the victim.
