Guwahati: Police has arrested a youth with arms and ammunition in Mizoram.
The arrested person identified as Tamij Uddin Laskar, a resident of New Dayapur in Cachar district of Assam.
A .32 pistol and four rounds of ammunition have been recovered from the youth’s possession.
The Mizoram Police arrested Laskar while conducting frisking operations in Vairengte in the Kolasib district.
Police reports stated that the youth was arrested when he crossed the border from Mizoram into Cachar with weapons.
The youth is currently being interrogated by the police.
