Guwahati: In a tragic incident, the body of a youth has been found in the Beki River bank at Jania in Barpeta district of Assam on Sunday.
The deceased youth identified as Himjyoti Das who was a resident of Patbausi village of Barpeta.
According to reports, Das was missing since Friday evening.
The incident came to light after some villagers spotted the body floating in the river.
Das was a sixth semester student of the Madhab Choudhury College (M.C. College).
Meanwhile, Police arrived at the spot and seized the body for autopsy after conducting the preliminary investigation.
However, the reason for the death of the youth is yet to be ascertained.
