Guwahati: Assamese Gk, a YouTube channel, has drawn criticism for its material. A Twitter user brought up the issue, and GP Singh, Special DGP (L&O), ordered the Assam Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to look into it.
Chandra Kamal, a Twitter user, wrote, “I feel ashamed to tweet dz post but Sir, plz take action against those so called youtube channel, you can’t search “Assamese GK” in YT bcoz of sexual content, it is very disturbing, many aspirants are preparing for competitive exams in YT only (sic).” He also tagged Assam CM, Assam DGP, and Singh in his tweet.
Responding promptly, Singh wrote, “@AssamCid please do the needful per law.” “Noted sir,” CID Assam replied back to Singh’s tweet. The channel was launched on June 9 this year and has garnered 182,923 views till now.
