Ziro Film Festival-Music Launches Inaugural Edition, Celebrating Film and Music Collaboration
Northeast Desk, 25th September: The inaugural edition of the Ziro Film Festival-Music (ZFF-M) was launched at *Saint Claret College, Ziro (SCCZ), organised by PWLO Entertainment in collaboration with SCCZ’s Department of Mass Communication. Supported by the Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), the festival aims to promote the intersection of film and music.
Held alongside the Ziro Literary Festival, ZFF-M attracted filmmakers, musicians, and industry professionals. Notable guests included the State’s IPR Secretary, Nyali Ete, who commended the festival for providing a valuable platform for young filmmakers. He highlighted the importance of networking and knowledge sharing, especially for those facing budget constraints.
The festival opened with a screening of ‘Songs of The Blue Hills,’ a documentary on Naga folk music by Utpal Borpujari, followed by a masterclass on film scoring by composer Marti Bharath. Other highlights included the screening of ‘Whiplash’ and a masterclass on film editing by Sanjeev Monga.
ZFF-M is poised to become a hub for filmmakers and musicians, fostering collaboration and artistic growth in India’s film and music industries.
