Zomato delivery boy who assaulted a women arrested by Bengaluru police

A Bengaluru woman alleged Wednesday she was assaulted by a Zomato delivery personnel, leading to his arrest the same day by the city police.

In a video posted on Twitter, Hitesha Chandranee claimed she was “hit” and “left bleeding” by the personnel, who “ran off” after the incident. “So guys, my Zomato order was late and I was talking to the customer care executive, and meanwhile, the delivery person just did this,” she said in tears as she pointed to her bleeding nose.

Tagging Zomato and the Bengaluru police in her tweet, Chandranee said she had lodged a complaint with customer care asking them to either deliver the food free of cost or cancel the order.

The accused, later identified as Kamaraj, was arrested after Chandranee lodged a complaint at the Electronic City Police Station.
