Lockdown Extended in Containment Zones in West Bengal till 31st August

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday announced the extension of complete lockdown in coronavirus containment zones in the State till August 31. The Chief Minister also said that the State will continue to go under a complete lockdown twice a week. Announcing the dates for the State-wide weekly Lockdown till August 31, the CM said that the State Government has exempted Bakr Eid and Independence Day from restrictions, but expects cooperation from People. The State Government has decided to exempt Bakri Eid and Independence Day from the lockdown. Making the announcement, the Chief Minister said that Bakr Eid has been exempted as it is a Religious Festival, but she hopes that People will celebrate indoor.
