In an ugly clash at Tripura-Mizoram border at least one man was killed and 5 others got injured after the Police open fired at a mob on Saturday. The Protests has been going on for the past week in Dolubari village of North Tripura district against the government’s decision to rehabilitate thousands of bru tribal refugees who had fled to the bordering state of Mizoram 23 years ago following the ethnic clashes in the state.
According to reports, 44-old Srikanta Das was shot dead and five others got seriously injured after police had to open fire at the mob who where attacking the security forces in North Tripura’s Panisagar. The protesters blocked the national highway and started vandalizing public property which forced the security forces to fire tear gas shells.
