12-Hour Bandh Affects Normal Life In Itanagar: APPSC Paper Leak Case
Guwahati: Normal life has been impacted in Arunachal Pradesh capital Itanagar as a result of the All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) call’s for a 12-hour bandh on Tuesday.
The bandh which started at 5 am has been called in protest of the state government’s “failure” to meet its requests on the paper leak issue involving the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).
Itanagar appeared abandoned because all stores, businesses, banks, and educational institutions have been closed, and all private and public transportation was suspended.
The ANSU has sent a memo outlining its 13-point requests about the question paper leak to the state’s chief minister Pema Khandu on December 3.
According to ANSU President Nabam Dadum, the union would keep fighting the swindle until all of its requests have been satisfied.
Candidate Gyamar Padung reported the incident to the police on August 29 and this led to the discovery of the paper leak in the assistant engineer (civil) test administered by the APPSC.
The exam administered on August 26 and 27 this year attracted more than 400 applicants. The case was turned over to CBI by the state administration in October.
