15 Stores in Assam Destroyed in a Market Fire in Sontali

Guwahati: A massive fire that started in the early hours of Friday in a market in Sontali, Assam’s Kamrup Rural district, destroyed up to 15 establishments.

At around 3.30 in the morning, the Dekasang bazaar received a report of the event.

According to reliable sources, a suspected short circuit caused the fire to start.

The unheard-of fire destroyed a number of commercial buildings, including a mobile and TV repair shop, a vehicle parts store, a pharmacy, and a Punjab National Bank Common Service Centre (CSC).

Fortunately, the fire was successfully put out by informed locals. They said that the fire tenders didn’t show up until the fire had already been put out.

According to sources, it is believed that goods worth billions of rupees were destroyed in the fire.

In a recent large fire at Tezpur in Assam’s Sonitpur district, at least nine commercial buildings were completely destroyed.

Around 11 p.m., a short circuit and a fire both started in the Mission Chariali neighborhood.
