180 kgs of Cannabis recovered by Teliamura Police Station in Tripura

The Teliamura Traffic DSP and SI Pritam Dutt led a search of a 14-wheeler lorry and arrested three persons along with a lorry carrying 180 kg of cannabis. The incident took place in front of Teliamura Police Station on Assam-Agartala National Highway around 4 am on Sunday.

According to details of the incident the Teliamura Traffic DSP Sona Charan Jamatia received secret information that the peddlers would arrive in a 14-wheeler lorry. Upon receiving the news, a huge police force led by Traffic DSP Sona Charan Jamatia sat in front of Teliamura Police Station. And at around 4 in the morning a 14-wheeler lorry number BR03-GA-9114 was seen coming. Police including Traffic DSP Sona Charan Jamatia stopped the vehicle and drove in front of the National Highway Police Station and recovered 18 packets or 180 kg of                                                                                   dried cannabis.

Police have arrested three people in the lorry however they did not name the three arrested in the interest of investigation. However, the SDPO of Teliamura reported that Lorry was on its way to Bihar from Gerania. He also said that they will continue such operations in the coming days.
