1992 Bombay Riots: Police Capture Runaway Accused
Guwahati: On Sunday, Mumbai Police apprehended a wanted accused from the riot in 1992 who had been evading capture for the previous 18 years.
The accused, Tabraiz Azim Khan, was arrested close to a bus depot in Dindoshi.
The local police reported that Khan was one of the nine accused wanted in connection with the 1992 riots case and charged with violating several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
It should be noted that communal riots occurred in Bombay in December 1992, resulting in the deaths of numerous individuals and the destruction of property. The city experienced multiple bombings in 1993 as a result.
In 2004, a charge sheet was submitted, and a sessions court issued a warrant for the suspect’s whereabouts.
