Guwahati: Two youths have drowned to death in a river while taking bath in Biswanath district of Assam on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Debo Kumar Gupta and Suraj Gupta.
According to reports, the two boys had gone to the neighbouring Buroi River to have a bath.
The two boys along with four more friends had come from Dofolagarh to visit a temple near the river.
Reportedly both the boys drowned the river flowing through Gohpur and Behali.
Meanwhile, Helem Police Station officers have arrived at the spot of the incident.
The police are conducting search and rescue operations with the help of the local people.
Reports further stated that the Gohpur Executive Magistrate and a team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) had also arrived on the spot.
However, the bodies have yet to be found.
