Guwahati: A 22-year-old woman died following a snake bike in Tinsukia district of Assam on Friday.
The incident took place at Digboi town of the district.
The deceased has been identified as Deepti Thapa.
According to reports, a venomous snake had bitten the girl inside her residence on Thursday.
The death of the victim was caused by a lack of anti-venom medications, which sparked a wave of outrage among the locals.
Reportedly, she was immediately rushed to the IOCL hospital in Digboi but they recommended Deepti to the Dibrugarh Medical College and Hospital due to a paucity of anti-venom medications.
However, an ambulance did not arrive in a timely manner.
Meanwhile, she succumbed to the bite on the way.
