3 govt employees suspended for subletting quarters in Manipur
Guwahati: The Manipur government terminated three additional officials on Friday for illegally renting out their assigned quarters to unauthorised inhabitants, which it described as “severe misconduct.”
T Subol Singh, a physical education teacher, was found to have broken Rule No. 15 (A) of the CCS(CCA) Rules 1965 by renting out his allotted government accommodation to one Yengkhom Sushil Singh, according to the suspension decision.
T Phulen Meitei, director of youth affairs and sports, said, “In exercise of power provided under Rule 10(1)(a) of CCS(CCA) Rules 1965, hereby suspend T Subol Singh, physical education instructor, with immediate effect.”
During the suspension period, Singh is not allowed to leave Imphal, his headquarters, without prior permission from the relevant government.
SD Erengnei Chiru, a ward attendant at Moreh PHC, was discovered subletting her allotted government quarter at Langol Housing Complex in Imphal to another unauthorised individual, Paokholen Haokip of M Shongpi in Senapati district.
SD Erengnei Chiru is facing disciplinary action, and she has been suspended with immediate effect, according to Manipur’s director of health services.
Meanwhile, Chiru has been instructed not to leave her headquarters in Moreh, Tengnoupal district, without first obtaining permission from the authorities.
In a separate occurrence, JNIMS Director L Deben Singh issued an instant suspension order for P Thanga Guite, a grade IV officer.
Guite was discovered subletting his government quarter at Langol Housing Complex in Imphal to another civilian family, as per the directive.
An Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) jawan had already been suspended for subletting his allotted government apartment to another unauthorised household on Wednesday.
