In an encounter in Baramulla district of Jammu & Kashmir on wee hours of Friday three unidentified terrorists were killed and three security forces personnel, including an Army officer have been injured. The security forces had launched a cordon and search operation at Yedipora in the Pattan area of Baramulla district in north Kashmir after getting information regarding terrorist presence in the area.
During the cordon and search operation, terrorists were given an opportunity to surrender but however they refused to surrender and instead held two families, comprising 12 members, including children, as hostage. After joint effort of the forces forces the hostages were rescued and evacuated to a safer place.
