4.4 Magnitude Earthquake jolts Assam and Nagaland

An Earthquake of 4.4 magnitude jolted few parts of Assam and Nagaland at around 8.59 AM on Sunday. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) the depth of the earthquake was 23.2 km on richter scale. The Epicentre of the quake was stated to be 11 km east of Mokochung in Nagaland.

However no casualty or loss of property has been reported yet. The Northeastern region has been facing frequent quakes from last few months as the region falls under Seismic Zone 5 which is known for very high-risk earthquakes.
