Guwahati: In a major drug bust, a massive consignment of cannabis has been seized by the Guwahati Police on Sunday.
Acting on a tip-off, Guwahati Police launched an operation and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration numbers AS 01 R 0044 in Hatrigaon area.
Upon searching the vehicle, around 40 kilograms of cannabis was seized from the vehicle.
The operation was carried out at Bihari Basti in the Hatigaon locality of Guwahati.
Moreover, police officials also arrested two people in connection with the seizure.
The arrested persons have been identified as Maidi Daimary and Gopal Basumatary.
It is learned that the cannabis were being smuggled before being intercepted by the police at Hatigaon.
