42 Children belonging to Assam, rescued in WB-Sikkim border

Guwahati: 42 children that were allegedly trafficked from Assam’s Chirang district to other states, were rescued by a team of Assam Police from the bordering area of West Bengal and Sikkim border.

A source stated that the rescued children were all between the ages of 7-10 and belonged to Chirang district.

The operation was initiated by the Chirang Police based on the specific input. All the children will be brought to Guwahati and further, they will also have an interaction with the Chief Minister of Assam.

Further discussions related to the rehabilitation of the children will be undertaken by the Chief Minister.
