5.8 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Nepal

Guwahati: The National Center for Seismology(NCS) reported that on Tuesday at 2:28 PM, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 occurred in Nepal.

The national capital of India, as well as Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand felt the tremors of the earthquake.

The earthquake was centred at a depth of 10 kilometres and 63 kilometres to the northwest of the Jumla district ,more than 300 kilometres from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.

In a tweet, National Center for Seismology wrote, “The Earthquake of Magnitude:5.8, Occurred on 24-01-2023, 14:28:31 IST, Lat: 29.41 & Long: 81.68, Depth: 10 Km ,Location: Nepal.”

According to reports, no initial reports of damage from Nepal were reported. Numerous people in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and some other locations flocked to social media platforms to report feeling severe tremors that rattled hanging objects like ceiling fans.
