Guwahati: Performing stunts on the motorbike proved to be costly for five youngsters, who were arrested by the Assam Police on Monday.
All of them were performing dangerous stunts while driving a motorbike on a busy highway at Hailakandi.
The cops acted after the videos of their acts went on social media.
The arrested youths were identified as Nur Amin Laskar, Abdur Rahman Laskar, Fakrul Islam Laskar, Abdul Aziz and Ekbal Hussain Mazumdar.
Notably, the arrests take place just days after Special Director General of Police of Assam GP Singh issued a public warning about harsh punishments for anyone who use social media platforms to display stunts. He also urged people to call the police right once if they witness someone attempting a stunt.
” People of Assam are requested to inform through Direct Message about any place or persons indulging in stunt biking on a regular basis. Such displays on Social Media platforms may also be brought to notice of Assam Police,” he had tweeted.
