Guwahati: A fire massive on tuesday night that started in a home at Shahpur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Mau district resulted in the deaths of five family members.
Relief services, including the fire brigade and medical teams, flocked to the scene as soon as they learned about the disaster. The fire was put out by the fire tenders that were sent out.
All five bodies were recovered, and a post-mortem was performed on them.
District Magistrate Arun Kumar said, “Five members of a family including a woman, an adult and three minors died in a house fire that broke out at Shahpur village, Kopaganj Police Station in Mau district. Police along with the fire brigade, medical and relief teams reached the spot.”
“The initial report stated that fire ignited from the stove,” he added.
A compensation of Rs. 4 lakh would also be given in connection with the matter.
