6 Arrested in Suspected Moral Policing Case in Assam’s Hailakandi

Guwahati: The prime accused and five other people were arrested on Tuesday in the Hailakandi district of Assam in connection with a suspected moral policing case.

Reports claim that the incident occurred in Ramnathpur and that the accused mistreated a little child on the pretence of being a thief.

The five accused were arrested by the police as a result of a video showing the accused torturing the little kid that appeared on social media.

The prime accused has been identified as Nizam Uddin Borbhuyan and the other five accused have been identified as Abdul Manaf Mazumdar, Aftabuddin Choudhury, Amir Uddin Mazumdar, Badar Uddin Choudhury and Abdul Mazumdar.

Massive amounts of illegal substances were found during a search operation that the police also carried out at the home of the main accused Nizam.
