6 Veer Lachit Sena Members Arrested for Disrupting Examination in Guwahati
Guwahati, 28th February: Six members of the controversial Veer Lachit Sena were arrested on Tuesday for obstructing candidates from appearing in an examination held at E Com Tower in Borjhar, Guwahati.
According to reports, the Veer Lachit Sena members, known for their involvement in youth-based political activities, prevented a group of candidates from sitting for the SSC-GD examination, citing their non-residence in Assam.
The incident occurred around 10:30 am when candidates arrived for the examination. The Veer Lachit Sena members confronted them and demanded to verify their residency status. Subsequently, based on an FIR filed by candidate Dharmendra Chauhan, a case was registered against the Veer Lachit Sena members.
While the examination proceeded smoothly, five candidates were unable to participate due to the disruption caused by the Sena members.
The arrested individuals include Tapan Kumar Sharma (47), Jayanta Sharma (21), and Rajesh Deori (28), while the identities of the remaining three were not immediately disclosed.
